Frequently Asked Questions

What times do you clean?

Generally clients will prefer us to clean before they start their day or after they have finished it. This brings a number of benefits including: no noise and disruption to your staff during the working day plus, we get around more quickly as a result at an overall lower cost due to fewer total hours required. Where necessary, we can also provide daytime cleaning/janitorial staff where the standard of cleanliness diminishes rapidly due to high headcounts.

How many days per week can you clean?

That’s your call. Part of our proposal process is to determine your exact requirements; including how many and which days you require cleaning to be done. Once known, our proposal and the resulting charges will reflect this and all other areas of consideration.

Will you send me a different cleaner each week?

No, it is our policy to maintain the same team member(s) on site where at all possible. We find that teams perform much better when they have an intricate knowledge of the site and its services. It also helps for the client to have built a relationship with the cleaner as part of our move towards partnership working.

What protection do we have regarding the cleaners’ integrity and honesty?

We prefer to recruit on the basis of internal referral. This means that the referrer thinks through the referrals far more carefully. All applicants are subject to our stringent process for recruitment into the team. A thorough interview is followed up with obtaining formal identification, proof of address, references and entitlement to work in the UK. We are covered by a comprehensive policy of £10m Employer’s Liability and £5m Public Liability plus a host of extensions of cover for your peace of mind.

How much do you charge?

Your overall monthly charge for daily cleaning is based upon a competitive hourly rate. This rate changes dependent upon the number of hours required per day and the scale of services, product and equipment required to complete the contracted works.

What is included in the charge?

As a general rule, we will provide the team member(s), general cleaning products and equipment, machinery required to carry out the agreed contracted works. Additional supplies of consumables such paper products, kitchen and dishwasher products, refuse sacks, bin liners etc. can be ordered and will be included on one simple invoice each calendar month.

Do we have to sign a contract?

Yes, but a fair and simple one. Among its standard inclusions, our contract provides for termination by either party on only a rolling 90 days’ notice, which we think is fair. We are not into binding clients into long-term contracts – we trust ourselves to do such a great job for you, that you will want to stay join contract with us for the long term anyway.

How do we cancel our existing cleaning contract?

This is a very common question. It is not uncommon for outgoing contractors to take umbrage with you because of your wish to change – and trying making a change over as difficult as possible.

Once you have signed the contract, we will manage the process and the contact and put all of the required processes into motion to arrange a seamless transition of contractors. This will include aspects such as: resourcing, site familiarisation visits, key holding, opening/closing & alarm procedures, equipment & product orders in preparation for the new contract start date.

Do we have to hang around to lock up after you’re done?

No at all. Our teams will 9 times out of 10 be given the responsibility to hold keys and alarm codes for the premises. This will allow them to perform their duties at a time that will not disrupt your own working day.

If the cleaning is done before 9am or after 5pm, can we still get hold of your office?

Of course. In many cases, you will have the mobile telephone of the management team member responsible for the supervision of the site. If not, the office number is monitored all day every day (including weekends and Bank Holidays) for you to get in touch in the event of an emergency.

We would need you to be “key holders” and be familiar with our alarm system. Would this be acceptable?

Not a problem. Many of our contracts have this system of entry and exit and trust us let ourselves in and out. Natural, as part of our commencement procedures, we would run through the necessary codes with you and keys would be safeguarded.
